Tools and Hardware Reviews of Makita LS1013 Dual Slide Compound 10-inch Miter Saw KitCustomer Review: makita 1013 Summary: 5 StarsI am currently building a cabin on Drummond Island, MI. This is my second miter saw. My other saw is the Dewalt 705K, (12" compound miter saw). I purchased the makita saw mainly to do finish work. It is stable, accurate and easy to use. Makita 1013 comes with extras, dust bag etc. With dewalt those would cost extra. I have found no problems so far with the makita. I do like the dewalt, but if you can afford it, the makita is more versatile. I highly recommend this sliding 10" miter saw.
Customer Review: Tough Call Summary: 3 StarsNice saw to have? Maybe. If this saw was given to you, it would be a great tool to have, but if youare going to buy one, you might want to shop around a little more. As far as mitering goes, it wobbles. Don't expect to run any molding with this baby. And the arm wiggles too much to do any bevel cuts. If you are a rough carpenter, this one might be what you are looking for. The depth of the cut and width capacity make it great for postwork.PROS ** Depth of cut. ** Width of cut. ** Compounds AND bevels both ways. CONS ** Arm wobbles. ** Hard to keep accurate. ** Doesn't have a very good dust collection system.
Customer Review: More than I thought Summary: 5 StarsThis saw is more than I thought it would be. Accurate right out of the box and required no set-up. Would buy again and the customer service was nothing short of great.I had ordered a re-con, but received a new machine when they didn't have a re-con to ship.
Customer Review: The best miter saw I've ever used. Summary: 5 StarsThis saw is the best infestment I've made in the 15 years I've been in construction. It will pay for its self in less than a year in the time I save in having to square and mark each peice. The dual beveling also saves in having to turn each peice around. all of the knobs, swithes and stops work great.
Customer Review: Makita LS 1013 Summary: 5 StarsI found this to be the best 10" sliding compound miter saw. I like the heavy base for stability and the accuracy of the saw, even when extending the slider rails. The ability of the saw to compound miter left and right is a real time saver for me. I had no problems with locking in the miter angles on the turntable. This saw also has adjustable depth of cut which I used to cut some dados while building screen frames. This saw also has a lock pin to lock down the saw for travel and storage and a handle to use to pick up to move it. This saw replaced my radial arm saw. Excellent saw from a great company.
