Customer Review: Impressive!

As of yet I can only give initial impressions since I haven't had a chance to use it extensively. I'd like to take this opportunity to, at least with the saw I received and as of April 2009, clear up some of the somewhat inaccurate descriptions of this saw. Although the item description states a 13 amp motor the saw I received is a full 15 amps. Also, the blade mine came with is a very nice 70 tooth carbide blade and it is a DUAL BEVEL saw. As far as initial quality I can say with confidence that this is a very high quality and well made tool. The slide mechanism is extremely smooth and very tight with no discernible slop or play to it. All in all I'm very pleased with the fit and finish and if this saw is like any of the many other Makita tools I own it will be a great investment and a pleasure to use over the long run.
I am soon going to start an all cedar potting bench for my lovely wife and will update with my impressions when I'm done!

Its dual steel rails with two linear ball bearings ensures stable, accurate and vibration-free cutting. This saw miter cuts 57 degrees left with 9 positive stops at 15, 22.5, 31.6, 45 left or right and 0 degrees. A soft starts feature means precision cutting from the get go. Youll have constant speed under load thanks to the electronic speed control feature on this saw. A single cast base with built-in wrench storage speeds up adjustments. The powerful 13-amp motor on this saw delivers 3,700 rpm.
